September 16th, 2011 by adminEMCO Gears Classic SVT & Ford Show
July 23rd, 2011 by adminWell everyone, the show is on Saturday and it looks like the weather is going to be pretty mild!
The festivities for Saturday morning begin at 8PM. The SVT & Ford show will officially start at 9AM but you’re more than welcome to start filtering in @ 8AM. We will award 11, 29’ inch 1st place trophies, and 1 36’ inch ‘Best of Show trophy’ from yours truly. Some trophies are sponsored by Germain Ford of Dublin, and individual contributors. We will award 2nd and 3rd place ‘Award of Excellence’ plaques.
There will be door prizes from Spec Clutch, UPR, Massive Speed Systems, etc. We also have awesome goody-bags that have 2011 catalog information from COMP Cams, UPR coupons, and more!
The entry fee for the show is only $5.00, so everyone should be able to participate.
As this goes to a 3-day event in 2012, you’ll be able to register and pay your $5.00 fee at the site (www.ohiosvt.com). The 2012 date has yet to be announced, but will likely return to the typical June time frame. Which will make it one of the first big shows events in for next year.

To provide some context, I’m sure most of you are familiar with the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge. The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge was a professional racing series co-developed by Ford Racing and Miller Motorsports Park. Utilizing the Ford Mustang FR500S and sanctioned by the GRAND-AM Road Racing, the Mustang Challenge was a support series to major professional road racing events across North America.
The Mustang Challenge was an affordable, challenging platform for racers who want to compete in a V8-powered, rear-wheel-drive car on a level playing field that showcases driver ability in high-profile events. A competitive point structure and generous purses made the Mustang Challenge THE Place to Race!
Unfortunately, the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Series came to an end last year at Miller Motorsports Park.
Although the series was disbanded, multiple teams and cars were absorbed in other road racing series including the World Challenge and the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Many of the cars have been collected under the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge which is under the GRAND-AM name; the Mustang Challenge was under GRAND-AM as well. Along with the Ford Mustang FR500S, GRAND-AM also has Ford Mustang GTs and the Mustang Boss 302R racing under the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge.
